It was founded jointly by the AARP, the National Teachers Association, and an insurance co. Heather Gardens near Denver has a lot of the usual good things going for it: there's a 9 hole golf course, more than 100 leisure activities, indoor and outdoor pools. Prices are reasonable, and it's a mile from a light rail station. Windsor Hills - The Woodlands, TX
The Woodlands is a huge planned community near Houston. It is so big it has multiple communities within it, some for 55+ and many for people of all ages. Windsor Hills is one of the 55+ communities.
